Brussels finest rap label
Just like last year #CoulCaf18 presents its fourth stage, the Red Bull Elektropedia Black Stage, that’ll bring the heat alongside its bigger brothers, the Red, Green and Blue Stages. To do so we set up shop with Red Bull Elektropedia, the country’s most influential electronic music and hip-hop platform. At the Red Bull Elektropedia Black Stage we bring you 3 days of non-stop party with the finest DJ’s and lots of special guest appearances. Every day 1 collective will host this stage.
On Saturday June 30th we hand over the keys to FRONTAL, a driving force behind the Brussels hip hop scence. The fine young men have their own weekly radio show on Bruzz, hosted by DJ Vega, DJ Proceed and Shabba, a recording studio, numerous workshops and events around town and a record label, housing none less STIKSTOF, Nag & LeFto and Zwangere Guy.
At Couleur Café, Shabba wil be hosting the following fellows:
- JazzDee is a young promising turntablist from Roeselare who makes his way as a versatile DJ through the musical landscape. Inspired by artists like J.Rocc, Cut Chemist and Kid Koala, JazzDee started to experiment with creating new sounds on the turntables. JazzDee brings a fresh vibe with a mix from hip hop to world, disco to broken beat, classics to new beats and everything in between.
- DJ Cross, al local turntablism talent who already played Tomorrowland, Pukkelpop, Rock Werchter and Les Ardentes as part of The Mixfitz. The scrath genius won a number of international championships and worked with superstars like Netsky and Mr. Vegas.
- DJ Vega is name to be reckoned with, who brought the heat to about every hip hop party in the country. In recent years he toured a lot with STIKSTOF, but over the last 12 years, true partyheads got to know what Vega’s all about: flawless mixes, good vibes and a well-mixed cocktail of hip hop, funk, grime, afro, trap and RnB
- For over 14 years it’s hard to imagine DJ Proceed without his Technics. He played at about every venue out there, hosts legendary parties, features alongside Crapulax, Josha and Lanceflow, organizes the famous End of The Weak MC battles and has his own weekly spot on Bruzz with Frontal Radio. DJ Proceed to give you what you need!
- OLVO is one those hard-to-label DJ’s, who invents his own genres. The Namur wizard is often praised for his rich and eclectic sound of abstract, futuristic beats. High time you found out just what aquatic boombap, abstract mutant hip-hop and bubble bass sound like.
- Rrita Jashari is one of the founders of Brussels’ 54 Kolaktiv, known for its epic homemade Soundsystem and underground parties. But she’s mainly a terrific DJ, with an broad musical background and tons of passion. Her mixes set for a journey through time, culture and genre along countless hidden gems.
- SWISSBANK, created in 2016 by Phasm and Jazz, is a musical project that explosively twisted the scene around. With a strict “no-internet” policy, you can only discover their tracks on local radios and live events. Like Couleur Café for example.
- UMI is a Brussels based prodigy that made a name for himself as Zwangere Guy’s DJ and is about to release his first solo release. Get ready for a fresh mix of trap, grime, hip-hop and UK bass.
