SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN
Contemporary Art Scenes in Europe
20.06 – 19.08.2018
The exhibition brings together the multiple realities of art practices from all over Europe. BOZAR gives carte blanche to five artistic constellations. Three Brussels-based art spaces (Établissement d’en face, Komplot and La Loge), a group of Curatorial Studies students (KASK, Ghent) and curator Michal Novotny who, in collaboration with Kim Contemporary Art Center (Riga) and Bunkier Sztuki (Kraków), embarks upon a subjective Eastern European journey in his exhibition Orient, the New East Artists from the CEE region. These alliances are indicative of today’s European art scenes where artists roam freely, without the geographic restrictions or institutional constraints that once defined the continent.
